Holiday at Home

After a successful maiden voyage, the Parish of Wonersh and Blackheath is delighted to announce that the Discovery will dock again this Summer at Lawnsmead for another Holiday at Home.

 

Holiday at Home will be a fun packed 2 day event for the over 60’s who find it difficult to get away.  The idea is to bring the holiday to the Parish so everyone can enjoy the pleasures of a break without too much upheaval. 

 

The ‘cruise’ will be over 4th & 5th August 2008. All guests will need to be boarded by 10.00am each day (courtesy transport available – see booking form). The itinerary will begin with morning coffee and biscuits and a thought for the day.  Guests will enjoy illustrated talks and demonstrations, crafts and a variety of other entertainment throughout the day. Lunch will be served in the Captain’s Dining Room  at 12.30pm and afternoon tea at 3.00pm.  All guests will disembark at 3.30pm.  The ‘cruise’ will end on the final day with a short celebration service followed by afternoon tea. 

 

We regret that the ship can only carry 40 passengers, therefore booking will be on a first come first served basis, so to avoid disappointment book now!

 

The cost of the ‘cruise’ will be £12 per person for the 2 day trip.  This price includes all meals, refreshments and entertainment.

HMS Discovery cruise details:

Discovery Group Mini Cruises 2007

6 voyages of Discovery and Re-discovery.   Every Tuesday from September 11th until October 16th in the Selwyn Room 12.15 for Lunch at 12.30, until 2.15 (in time for an afternoon rest).

 

Lunch will be Sandwich selection, fruit juices & deserts.

 

Followed by short talks, videos, activities and questions about life and faith.
